About the role
Save the Children is looking for an Administration Intern to support the daily operational administration of its Nairobi office. Working under the supervision of the Administration Officer, the intern will gain hands‑on experience in office management, inventory control, and event coordination within a humanitarian context.
Key responsibilities
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence and manage office stationery and consumable supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels, reconcile physical stock with bin cards, and conduct regular inventory checks.
- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, recording deliveries, and tracking parcels.
- Maintain trackers and reports in Excel, supporting process improvement initiatives.
- Assist with invitation letters, payment processing, and front‑office management as needed.
- Support event logistics, including booking accommodation, catering, and managing related payments.
- Participate in store management, applying FIFO principles and ensuring stock stays above reorder levels.
- Gain exposure to travel management, General Programme Equipment (GPE) handling, and cost‑benefit tracking tools.
Required profile
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant academic program.
- Ability to follow established Standard Operating Procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on ad‑hoc tasks in a fast‑moving environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
