About the role
UN Women is seeking an Advocacy, Communication and Coordination Consultant to support the ACT Programme implementation in East and Southern Africa. The consultant will work under the ACT Regional Coordinator to enhance regional convenings, advocacy, and partnership coordination.
Key responsibilities
- Facilitate regular coordination among ACT partners and broader EVAWG stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, resource sharing, and alignment of activities.
- Support planning and implementation of regional and country‑level advocacy initiatives, preparing briefs, talking points, presentations and background documents.
- Lead development and implementation of communications and visibility plans, producing newsletters, blogs, success stories, social media content and donor updates.
- Maintain stakeholder mapping, partnership records, communication calendars and visibility trackers, and report on outreach reach and engagement.
Required profile
- Experience in gender equality, women's rights or related advocacy work in East and Southern Africa.
- Proven ability to coordinate multi‑stakeholder partnerships and facilitate coalition building.
- Strong written communication skills for preparing advocacy and communication materials.
