Bicycle Mechanic for US Navy MWR Program

About the role

Amentum is looking for a skilled Bicycle Mechanic to support the US Navy Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program on Diego Garcia. You will ensure that government‑owned and customer bicycles are safe, well‑maintained, and ready for rental and events.

Key responsibilities

• Assemble, repair, and install parts on bicycles according to manufacturer specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on MWR‑owned rental bikes.
• Maintain accurate repair logs and provide them for government review twice monthly.
• Provide on‑site support during bike races and other MWR events.
• Keep the bike shop clean, organized, and stocked with functional tools and equipment.
• Order replacement parts and supplies as needed.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience as a bicycle mechanic or in bicycle assembly/repair.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift and maneuver bicycles and related equipment.
• Valid passport with at least one month of validity for international travel.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
