About the role
Thales is seeking a Business Development & Account Manager to expand its presence across Eastern Africa. Based in Nairobi, you will lead growth initiatives in the Aerospace, Defence and Security markets, building strategic partnerships and aligning customer needs with Thales' solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Grow Thales business in Eastern African countries.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Thales product portfolio for prospects and government customers.
- Understand customer missions and operational environments, and communicate relevant Thales solutions.
- Promote Thales Aerospace, Defence & Security products, systems and solutions to government customers and end‑users.
- Identify growth opportunities and conduct business development activities.
- Develop and maintain long‑term partnerships with key customers and strategic partners.
- Define, implement and monitor account objectives and performance targets.
- Prepare, maintain and execute capture plans.
- Ensure high customer satisfaction and long‑term engagement.
- Act as the primary interface between customers and internal Thales business lines.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in sales, marketing or business administration.
- 5‑10 years of international experience in a comparable role within aerospace, defence, security or related industries.
- Experience working with public procurement entities (military or civilian).
- Strong understanding of the Aerospace, Defence and Security markets.
- Customer‑focused with the ability to translate operational needs into business opportunities.
- Results‑oriented, self‑driven and highly disciplined.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Proven ability to build partnerships and lead cross‑functional collaboration.
- Fluent English (C2 level, written and spoken).
