Business Officer – Wajir

About the role

The Business Officer will support Premier Bank’s corporate banking activities in the Wajir region, driving profitable asset growth and delivering tailored financing solutions to reputable organisations. The role combines client relationship management, market development and compliance oversight to enhance the bank’s market position.

Key responsibilities

• Develop long‑term, cost‑effective asset business with reputable companies to maximise bank profitability.
• Act as a senior‑level consultant, evaluating and implementing financing strategies for clients.
• Maintain regular contact with assigned corporate customers, ensuring expectations are met and bank services are understood.
• Collaborate with branch managers to process corporate transactions while managing exposure risk.
• Identify and exploit cross‑selling opportunities aligned with customer needs.
• Build and maintain a pipeline of new profitable customers in target sectors.
• Ensure strict compliance with KYC and AML requirements for all client interactions.
• Prepare performance reports on marketing activities and portfolio performance.
• Structure, negotiate and monitor finance or lease agreements in line with bank guidelines.
• Coordinate service delivery, monitor contractual obligations and pursue additional business opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or a related field.
• Professional banking operations training (e.g., AKIB, ACIB) or equivalent business development experience.
