Child Rights and Business Specialist – Nairobi

About the role

The Child Rights and Business (CRB) Specialist will join Terre des Hommes' Child Protection sector in Nairobi, reporting to the Global CRB Advisor. The role provides technical expertise on child rights within business contexts, ensuring that private‑sector engagements meet international child protection standards.

Key responsibilities

• Design, coordinate and supervise CRB technical interventions, including assessments, capacity‑building and coaching.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on the quality and impact of CRB activities.
• Support fundraising and client acquisition efforts alongside the line supervisor.
• Ensure alignment of all interventions with Tdh’s child protection standards and with formal and community‑based protection systems.
• Represent Tdh in advocacy, networking and partnership forums related to child rights and business.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, international relations, international development or a related field.
• Advanced training on Human Rights and Business, Child Protection and PCM.
• In‑depth knowledge of global child protection standards, community‑based protection, case management and systems strengthening.
• At least 10 years of experience in humanitarian or international development, with a minimum of 5 years in a specialist or program‑management role on child rights and business.
• Proven experience working with the private sector on human‑rights due diligence, child labour programming and vulnerable children.
