Cleaning Supervisor

About the role

The Cleaning Supervisor will lead the daily cleaning operations for a campus in Rongai, Nairobi. Reporting to the Head of Department, you will ensure that all areas are maintained to high standards of hygiene and presentation. This full‑time, onsite role combines staff coordination, quality inspection and supply management.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the cleaning team.
• Allocate duties and monitor adherence to cleaning schedules.
• Conduct regular inspections to verify that standards are met.
• Maintain cleanliness of offices, common areas, washrooms, corridors and other designated spaces.
• Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming and conduct.
• Provide guidance, address performance issues and support staff development.
• Ensure correct and safe use of cleaning chemicals, equipment and materials.
• Track cleaning supplies, report shortages or damaged items to the Head of Department.
• Keep basic records of schedules, attendance, inspections and inventory.
• Enforce health, safety, hygiene and workplace procedures.
• Respond to cleanliness‑related complaints and special cleaning requests.
• Liaise with the Head of Department and external service providers on cleaning matters.
• Identify opportunities for improving cleaning standards and implement corrective actions.
• Perform any additional cleaning‑related duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• KCSE Certificate or equivalent.
• Certificate or training in Cleaning, Housekeeping, Hospitality, Facilities Management or related field (advantageous).
• Minimum 2 years experience in a supervisory role within cleaning, housekeeping or facilities management.
• Proven ability to supervise and coordinate a team of cleaning staff.
