About the role
The Global Education Practice at UNICEF is seeking an individual consultant to support data interpretation and utilization across the Financing, Data, Economics and Assessment for Learning and Skills (FinDEALS) team. This 14‑month assignment will be based in Nairobi with remote work and occasional travel.
Key responsibilities
- Analyse education data sets to generate actionable insights for policy and programme planning.
- Support the development of evidence‑based recommendations to improve learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with country teams to ensure data quality and relevance.
- Prepare concise briefs, dashboards and visualisations for senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to the synthesis of global and regional assessments on education performance.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in education, economics, statistics, public policy or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience working with large education data sets in low‑ and middle‑income contexts.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into policy‑relevant messages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
