Cluster Director of People & Culture

About the role

The Cluster Director of People & Culture leads the HR strategy for Fairmont The Norfolk and Fairmont Mara Safari Club, reporting to the Cluster General Manager and participating in executive committees. This senior role shapes culture, talent, and operational excellence across both luxury hotels.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Cluster and Unit General Managers and Executive Committees on strategic People & Culture matters.
• Develop and execute the annual Cluster People & Culture Business Plan aligned with business priorities.
• Lead the colleague engagement and culture strategy, fostering an inclusive, high‑performance workplace.
• Oversee talent strategy including recruitment, succession planning, leadership development and internal mobility.
• Manage employee relations, grievance, disciplinary processes and ensure compliance with Kenyan labour law.
• Direct compensation, benefits, payroll and workforce planning to support business needs.
• Champion health, safety and wellbeing initiatives across both hotels.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Director of Human Resources or equivalent senior HR leadership role.
• Professional HR certification such as SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
• Prior experience working in Kenya or familiarity with Kenyan labour legislation is desirable.
