Commercial Manager – Sales & Marketing

About the role

The Commercial Manager will lead the commercial agenda for Kaziweza’s poultry and feed portfolio, driving revenue growth, margin performance and market expansion across Kenya. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Managing Director, the role serves as the primary commercial interface with customers, distributors and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own the annual sales budget and deliver monthly, quarterly and yearly revenue, volume and margin targets for day‑old chicks, hatching eggs and all feed variants.
• Translate commercial strategy into regional and channel‑level sales plans with clear SKU, customer and geographic targets.
• Drive new customer acquisition, existing account growth and SKU penetration across all Kenyan regions.
• Lead key account management for top‑tier commercial farmers, poultry aggregators and institutional buyers.
• Develop and maintain price‑list architecture, conduct monthly price reviews and protect gross‑margin targets.
• Oversee debtor health, market‑share growth and brand positioning for both poultry and feed segments.
• Manage and mentor the commercial team including Key Accounts Manager, Regional Sales Managers, Technical Sales Officers, Marketing Officer, Customer Service Lead and Social Media Manager.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 10 years of experience in sales, marketing or commercial management, preferably within agriculture, feed or poultry sectors.
• Proven track record of achieving top‑line revenue growth and margin targets.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen with ability to respond to input‑cost fluctuations.
• Excellent leadership and people‑management skills, capable of directing cross‑functional teams.
• Willingness to travel regionally across Kenya.
