Community Manager East Africa - Arabic

About the role

MiCT is seeking an Arabic‑speaking Community Manager to support its “MiCT Fellowship for Critical Voices 2026‑2027” programme. The role is freelance, runs from August 2026 to June 2027, and is based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage online communities across East Africa in Arabic, fostering dialogue around critical media topics.
• Produce and curate Arabic content for social platforms, newsletters, and discussion forums.
• Monitor community engagement, respond to queries, and moderate discussions to ensure a respectful environment.
• Collaborate with MiCT journalists, trainers, and partner organisations to amplify project outputs.
• Report on community metrics and provide recommendations for improving outreach.

Required profile

• Fluent Arabic (written and spoken) with strong command of English.
• Experience in community management, social media coordination, or related communications roles.
• Familiarity with media‑related projects in East Africa is a plus.
