Cook – Luxury Safari Camp (Live-in)

About the role

Join Severin Safari Camp, a luxury safari camp inside Tsavo West National Park, Kenya, as our Cook. In this role you cook to a consistent luxury standard: mise en place is ready, dishes are right, and service stays calm. You work as part of the kitchen team under the Head Chef. This is a live-in role with rotational leave.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes to a consistent luxury standard.
• Cover hot kitchen / entremetier work such as soups, vegetables, eggs, sides, and vegetarian plates.
• Maintain mise en place, timing, and presentation for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
• Honor dietary needs and special requests as briefed.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and portion‑control standards.
• Support other kitchen stations and bush dining when required.
• Keep your section clean, organised, and ready for the next service.
• Protect stock, equipment, and maintain a professional kitchen atmosphere.

Required profile

• At least 2 years experience as a cook in a 4‑star or 5‑star hotel, lodge, or safari camp.
• Accurate, hygienic work under service pressure.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
• Willing to live on‑site and work rotating kitchen shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Calm, team‑first attitude and reliable on standards and integrity.
