Country Office Internal Controls Strengthening Consultant (Remote, 2 months)

About the role

UNICEF is seeking an experienced consultant to provide time‑bound technical and coordination support for strengthening internal control arrangements across its country offices. This 2‑month remote assignment focuses on reviewing delegation and authority instruments, ensuring systematic follow‑up on internal control statements, and finalising operational and fiduciary oversight guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Review and enhance country office Table of Authority and internal control self‑assessments.
• Develop and roll out practical guidance, including webinars, for consistent application of internal controls.
• Finalize the concept note on operational and fiduciary oversight at the country office level.
• Coordinate with multiple teams and time zones to deliver outputs under tight deadlines.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, audit, public administration, international development or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in internal controls, audit/assurance, risk management, or programme management within international organisations, preferably UNICEF.
• Demonstrated ability to translate policy requirements into practical guidance for diverse stakeholders.
