About the role
The Stony Brook Family and Preventive Medicine (UFPC) is seeking a Customer Service Representative to manage patient appointment scheduling and provide front‑line support. This full‑time, onsite position involves handling a high volume of calls, verifying insurance, and ensuring accurate data entry in a fast‑paced medical environment.
Key responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments following established protocols.
- Answer and route a high volume of phone calls.
- Obtain, verify, and input patient information into the scheduling system.
- Conduct insurance verification and update records.
- Provide courteous customer service and resolve or escalate patient inquiries.
- Maintain accurate documentation and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent typing ability and friendly telephone etiquette.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Experience with an appointment scheduling system.
What we offer
- Hourly wage ranging from $18.30 to $22.87.
- Full‑time schedule with occasional Saturday shifts.
