About the role
The Data Associate will support the delivery of high‑quality, timely, and reliable data for the Data.FI health project in Kenya. Working closely with the Technical Program Manager and MEL Lead, the role focuses on strengthening data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting to inform project implementation and decision‑making.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure timely, complete, and accurate data collection from project sites and partners in line with MEL plans and reporting timelines.
- Perform routine data cleaning, validation, and verification, and resolve discrepancies with data providers.
- Maintain organized, secure, and up‑to‑date datasets and data systems to enable efficient access, reporting, and audits.
- Support routine data analysis and generate summaries, dashboards, and visualisations using Excel, Superset, and DHIS2.
- Facilitate data entry, extraction, and reporting to meet project, national, and donor requirements.
- Participate in field data collection activities such as surveys, interviews, and validation exercises.
- Track project indicators, outputs, and activity progress; flag risks, delays, and data gaps.
- Assist in preparing routine progress updates and reports, highlighting performance trends and corrective actions.
- Contribute to the development and use of standard tools, SOPs, and reporting templates.
Required profile
- Early‑career professional with strong quantitative skills.
- High attention to detail and a focus on data quality.
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience with data collection, cleaning, validation, and reporting.
- Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks and US data quality standards.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with technical and field teams in Kenya.
