Data Clerk – Ebola Virus Disease Preparedness & Response

About the role

Amref Health Africa is seeking a Data Clerk to support the monitoring and evaluation component of a U.S. Department of State‑funded initiative aimed at strengthening Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) preparedness and response in high‑risk counties of Kenya. The role involves accurate data entry, compilation, and quality assurance to ensure timely reporting and informed decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Enter field data, registers, and survey tools into databases, spreadsheets, and electronic platforms such as ODK and KoboCollect.
• Compile and collate data from health facilities, sub‑county teams, and community activities on a routine basis.
• Support the capture of project indicators in systems like DHIS2 as directed.
• Retrieve and prepare data summaries for reporting needs.
• Review entered data for completeness, accuracy, and consistency; correct errors and flag gaps.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data.
• Basic understanding of health monitoring and evaluation processes.
• Ability to follow data quality protocols and work under tight timelines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ODK and KoboCollect for electronic data collection.
• Experience using DHIS2 for health indicator reporting.
• Competence in spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel) and database entry.
• Data cleaning and quality assurance techniques.
