About the role

The Director of Advocacy and Strategic Partnerships will shape Living Goods Kenya’s advocacy agenda, drive high‑impact partnerships, and lead resource mobilisation to strengthen government‑led community health systems. Reporting to the Country Director, the role blends Kenya‑focused strategy with regional thought leadership, positioning Living Goods as a leading voice in global health.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive advocacy strategy covering policy, health financing, and strategic partnerships aligned with organizational priorities.
• Lead the ecosystem of donor and development partners, securing funding and fostering long‑term collaborations.
• Provide strategic oversight to the Kenya Government Relations function and ensure alignment with national health objectives.
• Build and manage regional coalitions, representing Living Goods in high‑level forums and influencing health policy.
• Collaborate with Global Business Development, Advocacy, and Communications teams across Kenya, Uganda, Burkina Faso, and the United States to maximise synergies.
• Leverage evidence and data to position Living Goods as a thought leader in community health.
• Mentor and manage the advocacy team, fostering a high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in advocacy, strategic partnerships, or resource mobilisation within the health or development sector.
• Demonstrated success in influencing government policy and building multi‑stakeholder coalitions.
• Strong understanding of community health systems and donor landscapes in low‑resource settings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
• Ability to translate data and evidence into compelling advocacy narratives.
