Director of Enterprise Risk & Resilience

About the role

Inkomoko is seeking a senior leader to head enterprise‑wide risk management and resilience across its operations in East and Central Africa. Reporting to the COO, the Director will embed risk awareness into strategic and operational decisions, ensuring the organisation can scale sustainably in complex environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and continuously improve an enterprise risk management framework covering operational, financial, programmatic, safeguarding, regulatory, reputational, geopolitical and organisational risks.
• Lead risk identification, assessment, mitigation, monitoring and reporting across all country offices.
• Collaborate with the Director of Operations, Director of Organisational Effectiveness, Country Directors and senior leadership teams to increase risk visibility and embed risk considerations into business planning.
• Enhance business continuity, crisis preparedness and organisational resilience through practical, action‑oriented processes.
• Provide guidance and training to build a strong institutional risk culture throughout the organisation.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience leading enterprise risk management or resilience functions, preferably in multi‑country or development‑focused organisations.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate risk data into actionable insights for senior leaders.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders across Ethiopia, Rwanda and Kenya.
