District Director – Health Service (Western Australia)

About the role

The District Director role is a senior leadership position within the WA Country Health Service, responsible for overseeing health services across a designated district in Western Australia. Appointments are full‑time and permanent, with an expected start date in mid‑August 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage operational health services across the assigned district using a place‑based approach.
• Integrate and coordinate local and district services to ensure safe, sustainable, and high‑quality care.
• Provide strategic and operational leadership and governance for health services within the district.
• Engage with community members, health providers, and non‑health agencies to build collaborative partnerships.
• Strengthen specialist support and advance place‑based care by partnering with clinical and corporate program leaders.
• Uphold organisational values, safety, quality improvement, and compliance with the Code of Conduct and relevant legislation.

Required profile

• Relevant senior leadership experience in health service management.
• Willingness to travel or be redeployed within and between districts at the same classification level.
• Ability to nominate three district preferences and consider alternative locations if needed.
• Commitment to delivering coordinated, patient‑centred care.
