Electrical Utility Manager

About the role

The Electrical Utility Manager will lead the operation and maintenance of engine‑driven generators, medium‑voltage electrical equipment, and associated switchgear systems for a critical industrial site. This role ensures uninterrupted power supply, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and the effective implementation of a Quality Management System.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of ≥1,000 kW three‑phase/60 Hz diesel generators and medium‑voltage distribution equipment.
• Oversee electrical distribution systems comparable to those on Diego Garcia, guaranteeing continuous power availability.
• Implement and maintain a Quality Management System, including accident and incident investigations.
• Conduct risk assessments, ensure compliance with OSHA, electrical codes, and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead a technical team, schedule preventive maintenance, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Interface with the Contracting Officer and other stakeholders to meet contract obligations.
• Review and verify documented experience and qualifications before contract start‑up.

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years documented experience with ≥1,000 kW engine‑driven generators and medium‑voltage switchgear.
• Minimum five (5) years experience with complex electrical distribution systems similar to Diego Garcia.
• Minimum five (5) years experience in Quality Management, including accident/incident investigation.
• High school diploma or equivalent; fluent in English for technical communication.
• Valid passport and ability to travel as required.
