About the role
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is seeking a consultant to provide technical support for the Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Multipartner Trust Fund project in Tunisia. Based in Nairobi, the five‑month assignment will focus on curating and analysing existing knowledge on AMR drivers, advising national stakeholders, and communicating findings to target audiences.
Key responsibilities
- Develop a detailed workplan and stakeholder engagement plan for the consultancy.
- Conduct field surveys to identify potential environmental reservoirs of antimicrobial resistance in Tunisia.
- Curate, analyse, and compile current knowledge on the causes, drivers and pathways of AMR.
- Provide technical input and advice for national AMR management within a One Health framework.
- Prepare and disseminate reports, briefs and communication materials for policymakers and other audiences.
Required profile
- Advanced degree in environmental science, public health, microbiology or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in AMR research, environmental monitoring or One Health initiatives.
- Proven ability to work with national authorities and multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical and report‑writing skills.
