Face-to-Face Fundraiser – Public Engagement Role

About the role

The Face‑to‑Face Fundraiser will represent MSF in public locations, engaging passers‑by in informed conversations about humanitarian work and converting interest into regular or single‑gift donations. The role reports to the Donor Relationship Manager and is part of a pilot team operating in Nairobi.

Key responsibilities

• Approach and engage members of the public at assigned sites in a warm, professional manner.
• Deliver compelling narratives about MSF’s humanitarian mission and current programmes.
• Listen to prospective donors, answer questions, handle objections and invite regular or single‑gift commitments.
• Process donor sign‑ups using MSF‑approved forms and digital tools, meeting daily KPIs.
• Capture and record donor information in line with data‑protection protocols.
• Refer unresolved donor enquiries and provide feedback to the supervisor.
• Participate in a four‑person pilot team, attend trainings and follow the deployment schedule.
• Report daily activity, challenges and incidents through required tools.

Required profile

• Minimum Diploma or equivalent.
• Fluency in English and Swahili; additional languages an asset.
• At least 1 year of experience in sales, customer engagement, fundraising or community outreach.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage strangers empathetically.
• Commitment to humanitarian values and MSF principles of independence, impartiality and neutrality.
• Resilience, self‑motivation and ability to work in a target‑driven environment.
• Professional, trustworthy approach to handling donor information.

What we offer

• Annual salary of EUR 8,534 (HQ Grade 2) with 2 % yearly increments.
• Work‑life balance allowance of EUR 247–295 per month for accommodation, transport, etc.
