Field Sales Representative – FMCG (Nairobi)

About the role

The Field Sales Representative will drive sales and business development for our FMCG portfolio across assigned territories in Nairobi. You will be responsible for building relationships with retailers, wholesalers and distributors while ensuring product availability and visibility.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in the assigned area.
• Promote and sell company products to retailers, wholesalers and distributors.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing and payment terms.
• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
• Manage relationships with modern trade outlets such as supermarkets and chain stores.
• Expand distribution in general trade channels including small shops and open markets.
• Ensure product availability, proper merchandising and monitor competitor activity.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, provide after‑sales support and resolve complaints.
• Conduct regular outlet visits and train retailers on product knowledge and promotions.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly sales reports and provide market intelligence to management.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years sales experience in the FMCG industry.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of FMCG sales and distribution channels.
• Experience with both modern trade and general trade.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and perform under pressure.
