Field Technician

About the role

CBX Solutions is seeking a Field Technician to install and commission a range of security and networking equipment in new‑construction and retrofit projects. The role involves hands‑on work across various sites, ensuring all systems are installed to the highest standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install structured cabling systems including fiber optic, twisted‑pair, low‑voltage and coaxial cables.
• Mount and configure wireless access points, network switches and other IP devices.
• Install and align analog and IP CCTV cameras, NVRs and VMS platforms.
• Fit electrified door hardware, access control panels and related credential systems.
• Terminate, test, label and document horizontal and backbone cabling runs.
• Collaborate with project managers, lead technicians and other field staff on daily tasks.
• Participate in system commissioning, testing and site clean‑up.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• At least one year of experience as an installer or equivalent.
• Current certification in a VMS system and a structured cabling system.
• Pass background check and drug screening.

Required skills

• Installation of wireless access points and network switches.
• Installation of analog and IP cameras, NVRs and VMS platforms.
• Installation of electrified door hardware and access control panels.
• Structured cabling installation and termination (fiber, copper, coax, low‑voltage).
• Cable testing and labeling.
• Basic networking principles and low‑voltage systems knowledge.
