Finance Manager – NGO (Kenya, Somalia, Ethiopia)

About the role

The Finance Manager will lead financial management for Johanniter’s programmes in Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia, ensuring robust accounting, budgeting and reporting in line with donor and organisational requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and maintenance of financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, inventories and fixed assets.
• Manage budgeting, multi‑annual planning, cash forecasting and treasury functions across the country programmes.
• Ensure accurate allocation of expenses to projects, cost centres and donor budgets, and produce regular financial and donor reports.
• Supervise finance staff, review partner financial reports and support capacity‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• CPA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum six years of relevant finance experience, preferably in NGOs or humanitarian settings.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the SUN financial system.
• Strong financial reporting, budgeting and cash‑forecasting abilities.
• Experience in treasury and cash management.
