Fuel Lube Technician

About the role

Independence Excavating is seeking a Fuel Lube Technician to support its diverse fleet of heavy‑civil construction equipment. You will travel to multiple job sites, ensuring vehicles and machinery are properly fueled, greased, and topped off while adhering to all safety and DOT regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and execute daily fuel routes under limited supervision.
• Grease and top off fluids on vehicles and equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate records and reports of fueling activities.
• Operate wet‑line fueling equipment safely.
• Travel to various job sites and comply with all D.O.T. rules.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Commit to safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to work extended outdoor hours in varying weather.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to work all shifts, weekends, and overtime during peak periods.
• Clean driving record and Class B CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements, or willingness to obtain them.

Required skills

• Experience with wet‑line fueling equipment.
• Fueling and greasing equipment per manufacturer manuals.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Outlook.
• Operation of manual and automatic transmission vehicles.
• Class B CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements.
