Head, Leadership & Capability Development

About the role

Save the Children International is seeking a senior leader to shape its global learning and capability agenda. The Head, Leadership & Capability Development will design and deliver innovative talent and learning strategies that support the organisation’s mission, promote inclusivity and ensure a pipeline of capable leaders across all offices.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a scalable learning and development strategy, frameworks and curricula covering leadership, management, personal effectiveness and other capability areas.
• Design, deliver and continuously improve the Global Leadership and Management Curriculum, embedding Save the Children’s leadership behaviours.
• Collaborate with People Partners, the Head of Talent and other stakeholders to assess learning needs, create comprehensive learning plans and oversee high‑quality development programmes.
• Integrate diversity, equity and inclusion principles into all training materials and delivery methods.
• Monitor, evaluate and report on programme effectiveness, using data to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead a team of four learning professionals, providing coaching, performance management and professional development.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in global learning, leadership development or talent management, preferably in the non‑profit sector.
• Proven ability to design and scale learning programmes for diverse, geographically dispersed audiences.
• Strong understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion best practices in learning design.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior leadership.
• Ability to work in a hybrid or remote environment and travel up to 5% internationally.
