Head of Commercial Finance – Spirits

About the role

The Head of Commercial Finance – Spirits will lead the performance agenda for Diageo’s Africa Partner Markets (APM) Spirits portfolio. Reporting to the APM Finance Director, the role partners with commercial leadership and strategic partners to translate commercial strategy into strong financial performance, robust governance and sustainable value creation.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end financial performance narrative for APM Spirits, ensuring risks, opportunities and interventions are clearly understood and acted upon by senior stakeholders.
• Manage performance review, outlook and annual operating plan cycles, improving visibility in the partner‑led model.
• Drive commercial finance partnering to shape planning, pricing governance, partner negotiation strategy and value‑chain optimisation for sustainable growth.
• Lead measurement and evaluation of trade investment and A&P to influence investment prioritisation.
• Strengthen partner governance, standardise processes and improve reporting quality in a non‑SAP environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 + years experience in commercial finance, preferably within a consumer‑goods or beverage environment.
• Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACCA, CPA) strongly preferred.
• Proven track record of defining and delivering commercially oriented strategies and plans.
• Ability to influence critical commercial decisions and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
