Head of Credit Control

About the role

The Head of Credit Control will lead the finance team in safeguarding the company’s cash flow by managing the end‑to‑end credit control process. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for overseeing collections, assessing customer credit risk and ensuring timely payment of invoices.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the collections process, pursue overdue accounts and enforce payment terms.
• Assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers, set credit limits and implement risk‑mitigation controls.
• Lead and coach a team of collectors to achieve cash‑flow targets.
• Reconcile customer accounts, investigate billing disputes and resolve them with clear communication.
• Escalate chronic defaulters to senior management or external collection agencies when necessary.
• Provide regular reports on receivables, bad‑debt risk and working‑capital performance.

Required profile

• Diploma or higher qualification in finance, accounting or related field.
• Minimum five years of experience in credit control, collections or accounts receivable, preferably in a senior capacity.
• Strong analytical ability to evaluate financial health of customers.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing a team.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
