Head of Nairobi Office & Partnerships Director

About the role

We are looking for a senior, politically‑savvy leader to head our Nairobi office and drive partnerships across Kenya and East Africa. The role will represent Causal Foundry with government, donors and implementation partners, ensuring our AI‑enabled health‑system solutions are delivered with credibility and long‑term impact.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Nairobi office, overseeing day‑to‑day operations and staff.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior officials in the Ministry of Health, Digital Health Agency, county governments and other public‑sector bodies.
• Represent Causal Foundry in strategic meetings, technical working groups, steering committees and public‑sector workshops.
• Identify, develop and secure strategic partnerships and funding opportunities with donors, NGOs and private sector partners.
• Coordinate local implementation partners to ensure alignment with national priorities and governance frameworks.
• Navigate government processes with discretion, persistence and institutional knowledge.

Required profile

• Extensive experience working at the intersection of government, health systems and technology in Kenya or the broader East African region.
• Proven track record of establishing high‑level relationships with ministries, digital health agencies, county authorities and donor organisations.
• Strong political acumen, judgment and ability to operate confidentially in complex institutional environments.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing an office or team in a fast‑growing tech or health‑innovation setting.
