Health & Social Care Compliance Manager

About the role

This part‑time position supports a CQC‑approved home‑care agency operating across England and Wales. You will maintain and strengthen the compliance framework, ensuring that operational practices meet CQC standards, UK legislation and internal quality expectations. The role is ideal for an organised professional who can work independently to conduct audits, manage documentation and keep the organisation inspection‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor ongoing compliance with CQC regulations, the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and related standards.
• Maintain inspection readiness by managing evidence, tracking legislative updates and updating policies.
• Conduct internal audits, spot checks and risk assessments across care documentation and staff records.
• Identify non‑conformities, evaluate risks and drive corrective‑action plans to completion.
• Ensure staff documentation—including training, qualifications, DBS checks and right‑to‑work files—is current.
• Support safeguarding processes, incident review and trend analysis.
• Oversee UK GDPR compliance, data‑protection policies and privacy risk escalation.
• Prepare regular compliance reports, dashboards and action logs for senior management.
• Assist with documentation for external audits, Local Authority requirements and CQC engagements.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a compliance, quality, governance or CQC‑related role within the care sector.
• Strong practical knowledge of UK health and social care regulations, including CQC standards.
• Good understanding of UK employment and labour law.
• Proven ability to manage policies, procedures, audits and regulatory matters.
