HR Officer – Hospital (Mombasa)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive HR Officer to join our hospital team in Mombasa. You will play a key role in attracting, retaining and supporting staff while ensuring compliance with Kenyan labour regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment activities, source candidates, conduct interviews and manage onboarding documentation.
• Prepare and verify payroll inputs, monitor attendance, leave and overtime, and liaise with Finance for timely payroll processing.
• Address employee concerns, support performance appraisal cycles and drive employee development initiatives.
• Administer disciplinary and grievance procedures in line with company policy and employment law.
• Maintain confidential employee records, prepare HR reports and ensure all documentation is up‑to‑date.
• Ensure compliance with the Employment Act and other statutory requirements.
• Organise staff welfare, training and engagement programmes and assist with employer branding efforts.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as an HR Officer in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Membership of IHRM and knowledge of Kenyan labour laws is an advantage.
