Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) – Uganda

About the role

The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) will support the Country Manager in building an engaged workforce across Uganda and Kenya. The role focuses on payroll accuracy, compliance with labour legislation, HR reporting and the delivery of recruitment, performance, employee relations and succession planning programs.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with employment laws and company policies, mitigating organisational risk.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly HR reports for management decision‑making.
• Develop and nurture workplace relationships to improve morale, productivity and retention.
• Champion employee engagement, recognition and wellness initiatives that foster a positive culture.
• Coordinate recruitment, selection, onboarding and staff rotation processes.
• Maintain accurate HR databases and employee records in line with legislation.
• Oversee payroll preparation, auditing and timely processing of staff leave and final dues.

Required profile

• Mid‑level HR professional with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan and Ugandan labour legislation.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Ability to produce evidence‑based HR reports and analyses.
