Human Resource Officer – HR Operations

About the role

The Human Resource Officer will support Brites Management Services Limited in managing the full spectrum of HR activities for its logistics and shipping operations. This onsite position is based in Kiambu and focuses on recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and compliance with Kenyan labour law.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end recruitment, from job posting to onboarding and contract preparation.
• Maintain confidential employee records, HR databases, attendance and leave registers.
• Coordinate monthly payroll inputs, including overtime, allowances and deductions.
• Prepare regular HR reports on headcount, turnover, attendance and other key metrics.
• Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and performance appraisal processes.
• Ensure HR practices comply with statutory requirements and internal policies.
• Provide HR advice to managers on staffing, performance and employee welfare.

Required profile

• Degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience in HR operations.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour legislation and HR best practices.
