Human Resource Lead

About the role

The Human Resource Lead will report to the Head of Human Resource and Administration and will be responsible for managing labour relations, recruitment, employee welfare and compliance for a vertically integrated textile solutions provider in Ruiru, Kenya. This role ensures a positive work environment, handles grievances, and supports strategic HR decisions across production teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain labour relations programs, policies and procedures, handling individual and collective grievances, disciplinary actions and counselling in line with the CBA and Kenyan labour laws.
• Lead recruitment for production employees, coordinate with production heads and the HRD team to fill staffing needs, and manage employee records, contracts and wage adjustments.
• Oversee dispute resolution, provide inputs to strategic HR decisions, and collaborate with the Compliance Lead on emerging labour requirements and court proceedings.
• Manage Workmen Compensation (WIBA) processes, ensuring timely claims handling, injury investigations and compensation for workplace accidents.
• Maintain employee files for the legally required retention period and communicate HR policies, updates and onboarding information to all staff.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour law and regulations.
• High ethical standards, integrity and the ability to negotiate and mediate effectively.
• Excellent collaboration, people‑relations and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Ability to manage change and drive continuous improvement in HR processes.
