Human Resources Manager (Healthcare)

About the role

RIVANA STRATEGIES is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR functions for its healthcare operations. You will be responsible for shaping HR strategy, ensuring compliance, and fostering a high‑performing workforce.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end recruitment and onboarding for clinical and non‑clinical staff.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve HR policies, procedures and best practices.
• Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws and statutory requirements (NSSF, SHA, PAYE, etc.).
• Oversee performance management, employee engagement and staff development programmes.
• Handle employee relations issues and resolve workplace conflicts professionally.
• Coordinate compensation, benefits administration and payroll processes.
• Support managers with workforce planning and organisational development.
• Identify training needs and manage learning and development initiatives.
• Prepare HR reports and provide insights for management decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Professional HR certification (e.g., CHRP(K), IHRM, CIPD) is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 years progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Experience in the healthcare, hospital or medical services sector preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and employment regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Demonstrated leadership, organisational and decision‑making skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with HR information systems (HRIS).
