Information Technology Consultant

About the role

The U.S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) Kenya office is seeking an experienced Information Technology Consultant to provide Level‑2 IT support for its staff. The consultant will work onsite, delivering routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and hardware/network services for up to eight users, with the ability to scale up or down based on project needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Level‑2 IT support for USP Kenya staff.
• Monitor and maintain computer hardware and networking systems.
• Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and related software.
• Troubleshoot hardware and networking issues, escalating to third parties when necessary.
• Set up client computers, create new user accounts, and configure network access.
• Produce procedural documentation for all work performed.
• Test computer components to maintain system capability.
• Document hardware changes, revisions, and maintain historical records.
• Ensure proper operation of IT equipment, including data backup routines.
• Maintain confidentiality of client information and protect operations.
• Advise on procurement of technology resources and perform any other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Individual or firm with proven experience delivering Level‑2 IT support.
• Ability to work onsite at the USP Kenya office and respond to ad‑hoc service calls.
• Flexibility to adjust support capacity according to project requirements.
