Junior Accountant

About the role

Join Syngenta Group as a Junior Accountant and help build a solid foundation for finance activities across the region. You will manage local finance operations, coordinate with European and Global Finance Operation Centres, and support multiple countries as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accounting processes including fixed assets, accounts payable, treasury, and transaction processing on the ERP system.
• Execute month‑end closing, treasury activities, and year‑end procedures, reconciling balance‑sheet ledgers.
• Act as the escalation point for accounts‑payable issues and ensure timely journal entries in the local books.
• Prepare and analyse ledger, statutory, and tax reporting, collaborating with business‑facing finance and external service providers.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, IFRS, local GAAP, and tax regulations.
• Monitor internal‑control risks, update controls, and report any deviations from standards.
• Support the preparation of statutory and tax returns and assist senior finance staff as required.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or early‑career professional with a strong interest in finance and accounting.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with regional finance centres.
• Attention to detail and commitment to ethical standards and compliance.
• Willingness to support multiple countries within the AME region.

Required skills

• Experience with an ERP system (non‑SAP environment).
• Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP accounting principles.
• Understanding of indirect tax and statutory reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in preparing journal entries, fixed‑asset accounting, and treasury operations.
