Junior Furniture Designer (Female)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Female Junior Designer to join our interior design and furniture manufacturing team in Nairobi. You will support the creation of furniture concepts, develop detailed production drawings, and assist the design team throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with design and sales teams to interpret client briefs and develop furniture concepts.
• Create design visuals using CAD software, 3D modelling tools, and hand sketches.
• Prepare mood boards, material selections, and presentation packages.
• Produce detailed production drawings and technical specifications in Archicad, SketchUp, or other CAD tools.
• Update drawings based on client feedback and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Liaise with the production team to support accurate implementation and conduct quality checks.
• Maintain design files, project records, and drawing archives.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, Product Design or a related field.
• Minimum of one year experience in a woodworking workshop, furniture manufacturing or fit‑out environment.
• Strong understanding of furniture production processes and quality control.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Archicad.
• Proficiency with SketchUp.
• Experience using CAD software for detailed drawings.
• Ability to create 3D models and visualisations.

What we offer

• Fixed‑term contract of 3‑6 months.
• Full‑time position based in the Industrial Area, Westlands.
• Salary range KSH 40,000‑50,000 per month.
