Legal and Debt Recovery Intern

About the role

NW Realite Limited is seeking a motivated Legal and Debt Recovery Intern to support its internal legal counsel. The internship offers hands‑on exposure to legal drafting, litigation assistance, lease administration and debt recovery within a commercial real‑estate environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the internal legal counsel in drafting demand letters, settlement agreements, lease documents and other legal paperwork.
• Support litigation matters by preparing court filings, organizing case files and liaising with external advocates.
• Follow up with debtors, monitor repayment plans and help compile recovery reports in coordination with the finance team.
• Maintain accurate legal records, case files and documentation in line with company policies.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely collection of overdue accounts.

Required profile

• Diploma in Law, Paralegal Studies or a related field (completed or final year).
• Previous attachment or internship exposure in legal support, litigation or conveyancing is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of debt collection, credit control or accounts receivable processes.
• Ability to draft legal documents and demand letters under supervision.
• Foundational knowledge of court procedures and debt recovery mechanisms.
• Strong communication skills, high professional integrity and attention to detail.
