Legal Intern – Commercial & Regulatory Law

About the role
We are looking for a bright law graduate who has completed the Advocates Training Programme at the Kenya School of Law to join Airtel Kenya’s Legal and Regulatory Department on a holding‑over basis. The Legal Intern will support the team in delivering legal services across the telecommunications business, gaining hands‑on experience in commercial contracts, intellectual property, dispute resolution, regulatory compliance and data protection.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements and service contracts.
- Support IP matters, including trademark and copyright issues.
- Conduct legal research and contribute to dispute resolution processes.
- Monitor regulatory developments and help ensure compliance with Kenyan telecom regulations.
- Participate in data‑protection and privacy initiatives.
- Undertake ad‑hoc legal projects as required by the department.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognised Kenyan university.
- Successful completion of the Kenya School of Law programme with a strong academic record.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
