About the role
We are seeking a qualified Optometrist to work on a locum basis at our clinic in Thika, Kenya. The role involves delivering comprehensive eye care services, maintaining accurate patient records, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure high‑quality vision health.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assess visual acuity and refractive errors.
- Diagnose eye conditions and prescribe or dispense corrective lenses.
- Advise patients on appropriate eyewear and make specialist referrals when needed.
- Maintain detailed patient records and support overall quality of healthcare services.
Required profile
- Diploma in Optometry.
- Registered with the Optometrists’ Association of Kenya.
- Minimum of one year relevant experience.
Required skills
- Proficiency in computer applications for record‑keeping.
- Ability to accurately prescribe and fit corrective lenses.
- Strong knowledge of eye anatomy, physiology and common eye conditions.
