Maintenance Coordinator

About the role

The Maintenance Coordinator will manage day‑to‑day operations for facility upkeep at CURE’s hospital in Kiambu, Kenya. This includes overseeing repairs of buildings, water systems, grounds, furniture, non‑medical equipment and waste management to ensure a safe, functional environment for patients, families and staff. The role works closely with the Facility Manager/Director and supports infrastructure projects such as construction and renovation.

Key responsibilities

• Implement maintenance tasks assigned by the Facility Manager/Director.
• Assist in planning, developing and executing approved construction and renovation projects.
• Maintain and audit the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring data accuracy and providing user training.
• Act as internal auditor for work performed by external contractors, verifying compliance and quality.
• Prepare and manage documentation for building projects, including bills of quantities, project plans, inspection and hand‑over reports.
• Monitor waste management and ensure all facilities meet health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facility or building maintenance, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects.
• Attention to detail for auditing contractor work and maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the Facility Manager, staff and external vendors.

Required skills

• Proficiency with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
