Mathematics & Science Teacher – Lower Primary (Grades 1‑3)

About the role

Strathmore School is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic teacher to deliver Mathematics and Science & Technology to lower‑primary learners (Grades 1‑3). The role involves planning and delivering age‑appropriate lessons that align with Kenya’s Competency Based Curriculum, while fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality Mathematics and Science & Technology lessons for Grades 1‑3.
• Design learning activities that meet the requirements of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC).
• Monitor student progress, assess learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance and development.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity and participation.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and school leadership to support student wellbeing and achievement.
• Participate in staff meetings, school events and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Relevant teaching qualification with Mathematics as the primary specialism.
• Valid TSC registration or eligibility to register.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated passion for teaching young learners.
• Prior experience teaching at lower primary level (preferred).
• Familiarity with the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) framework (preferred).
