Medical Records Technician – BOSC Clinic

About the role

The Medical Records Technician will support the BOSC Clinic by managing patient health information in both paper and electronic formats. You will ensure records are accurate, secure, and readily available to authorized staff while complying with privacy regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Organise, maintain and update patient medical records in physical and electronic systems.
• Validate completeness of records, including histories, test results, diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Enter and update patient data in health‑record management software.
• Review records for HIPAA and other regulatory compliance.
• Respond to authorized requests for medical records from providers, patients or entities.
• Prepare reports or data summaries for clinical or administrative leadership.
• Assist healthcare providers by ensuring documentation is available for patient care decisions.
• Manage record release processes and maintain logs of accessed or transferred files.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on record‑keeping and security practices.

Required profile

• At least two years of experience in medical records management or healthcare administration.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to handle protected health information with discretion.
• Strong organisational attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with medical recordkeeping systems.
• Experience using health information management software.
• Competence with standard office software applications.
