About the role
The Monitoring and Evaluation Supervisor will be the lead technical focal point for M&E, accountability and learning across Church World Service’s Africa humanitarian and development programmes. Based in Nairobi, the role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on implementation to ensure data‑driven program design and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning plans, defining indicators, targets, data sources and reporting timelines.
- Design, update and maintain data collection tools, monitoring templates, indicator reference sheets and reporting formats in partnership with program teams.
- Lead needs assessments, baseline studies, mid‑term reviews, lessons‑learned exercises and end‑line evaluations, contributing to protocols, tools, data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Coordinate external assessments and evaluations, including gender analysis, environmental impact assessments and project impact evaluations.
- Track project performance, produce dashboards and analytical reports for donors, partners and internal stakeholders.
- Support partner capacity strengthening and facilitate organizational learning through evidence‑based insights.
Required profile
- Senior‑level professional with at least six years of experience in monitoring, evaluation, accountability or learning within humanitarian or development contexts.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with program managers, technical focal points, donors, implementing partners and headquarters staff.
- Strong analytical mindset and experience managing complex data collection processes.
Required skills
- Design and implementation of monitoring frameworks and evaluation methodologies.
- Development of data collection tools and reporting templates.
- Production of dashboards and performance tracking systems.
- Conducting gender analysis and environmental impact assessments.
