National Project Officer – Climate Mobility Innovation Lab Africa

About the role

The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) is seeking a National Project Officer to support the Climate Mobility Innovation Lab (CMIL) in Africa. Based in Nairobi, the officer will assist day‑to‑day operations and the implementation of key CMIL programmes such as the Risk Index for Climate Displacement (RICD) and the Climate Catalytic Fund (CCF).

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate project management tasks related to RICD and CCF rollout across IOM country offices.
• Facilitate internal and external communication on CMIL activities, ensuring timely information flow.
• Support data collection, analysis, and reporting for climate‑induced displacement risk assessments.
• Assist in preparing grant proposals, monitoring grant implementation, and documenting outcomes.
• Maintain liaison with partners, government agencies, and stakeholders involved in climate‑mobility initiatives.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree (e.g., International Development, Environmental Studies, Public Policy).
• Experience in project coordination or management within humanitarian, development, or climate‑related contexts.
• Strong understanding of climate‑induced displacement, risk assessment tools, and grant‑making processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
