Operations Associate (GS-6) – Fixed Term – Nairobi

About the role

The Operations Associate will provide essential administrative support to the Programme Risk Management (PMR) team within UNICEF's Regional Services Division (ESAR) in Nairobi. This fixed‑term position contributes to the efficient planning, monitoring and reporting of government and civil‑society partnerships at country‑office level.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver day‑to‑day administrative assistance to the PMR team, including scheduling, correspondence and document management.
• Collect, compile and analyse data to support risk‑management and partnership monitoring activities.
• Assist in the implementation of the Programme Implementation Procedure, covering work planning, HACT assurance, CSO collaboration and compliance with Social and Environmental Standards (SES) and PSEA.
• Prepare briefing notes, reports and presentations for senior staff and country offices.
• Maintain accurate records of meetings, decisions and follow‑up actions.
• Coordinate logistics for workshops, trainings and stakeholder engagements.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Development, Business Administration, Public Policy).
• Proven experience in administrative or operational support within an international organization or NGO.
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and manage multiple priorities.
