Operations Associate

About the role

Ando is expanding its food delivery network across Kenya, Rwanda and South Africa. We are looking for an Operations Associate to oversee day‑to‑day order flow at our Nairobi kitchen, ensuring every meal leaves the kitchen on time, accurately and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor incoming orders from multiple delivery platforms and internal systems.
• Coordinate order preparation, packaging and dispatch, working closely with chefs and kitchen staff.
• Prioritise orders, resolve bottlenecks and ensure smooth hand‑over to riders.
• Verify order accuracy, presentation and packaging before dispatch.
• Escalate and resolve any customer, rider or operational issues in real time.
• Track operational metrics such as preparation, dispatch times and order accuracy.
• Support inventory checks for packaging materials and operational supplies.
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness and compliance standards.
• Assist with daily reporting and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Operations, Supply Chain or a related field.
• 1+ years of experience in operations, hospitality, logistics, retail, restaurants or customer service (preferred).
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency in Google Sheets.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
