Part-Time Clinical Officer – Specialized NCD Clinic

About the role

Jacaranda Maternity is seeking a passionate, patient‑centred Clinical Officer to join its outpatient Specialized Non‑Communicable Disease (NCD) clinic on a part‑time basis. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality chronic disease care to a large and growing client base.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up for patients with hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, asthma, COPD, chronic kidney disease, obesity and related conditions.
• Develop individualized management plans and monitor outcomes using evidence‑based clinical guidelines.
• Educate and counsel patients on lifestyle modification, medication adherence and disease self‑management.
• Coordinate referrals and multidisciplinary care for patients requiring specialist input.
• Participate in clinical audits, quality‑improvement initiatives and the development of NCD protocols.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the hospital electronic medical records system.
• Mentor nursing staff and support continuous professional development within the clinic.

Required profile

• Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognised institution.
• Current registration and valid practising licence with the Clinical Officers Council of Kenya.
• Postgraduate qualification in Non‑Communicable Disease Management.
• Minimum three years’ experience managing patients with non‑communicable diseases in a hospital or specialised outpatient setting.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication and patient‑counselling abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
